The Meaning of the Name

Why this name was chosen

Baby Kofi Mensah

Meaning

Kofi means "born on Friday" — a day of peace. He arrives with the promise of a new dawn for the Mensah and Asante families.

Kofi means "born on Friday." In Akan tradition, a child born on Friday carries the spirit of peace. He arrived at 5:47am, as the first light touched the lagoon behind their East Legon home. The midwife said she had never seen a baby so calm.
